Hello everyone…. just wanted to let you know that I haven’t been totally slack-assing, but due to some *ahem* life complications, I did take a bit of a break, only exercising occasionally and unfortunately not posting.  Sorry ladies.

Ryan got me a new Timex heart rate monitor for Christmas, and I broke it in this morning.  I have been TOTALLY underestimating myself, as you can see…  What a pleasant surprise to see how many calories I have actually been burning.  Now if I can just let those horrid eating habits go, I will finally get to see some weight loss.  I am very encouraged, to say the least.

It’s good to be back!  Woohoo!

So I was having a super-crappy afternoon…. my afternoon had gone to shit, mostly because my home business is pissing me off to no extent, so instead of sitting and eating and pouting, I decided to take it out on the ellipitcal trainer.  Got all my frustrations out and now have a clear head.  Feel MUCH better, and the cherry on top?  My daily total burned is…. dah dah dah dah

1504 calories!!!

So I’m including distance in my stats, just as an extra measure to track my progress.  Now, 2.90 miles doesn’t sound like much, right?  I didn’t think so either, so I did some math… it takes 20 steps to to 0.01 miles, so to go 2.9 miles I would have taken 5800 steps.  With resistance.  Now THAT sounds like a workout!

Well, after yesterday’s sucky results, I’m determined to make a change this week.  I loathe counting calories, but I think that is my next step.  Here’s to a great week, ladies.



Very disappointed this morning – did my weekly weigh in, and I’m at 179.5.  Fuck fuck fuck.  After all that hard work?!?  Am I doomed to a life of eating carrot sticks?

And it gets better!  I took my measurements, hoping to see SOME progress, and here’s what I’ve got:

Bust: 42″ (no change) Rib C: 34″ (gained an inch)  Waist: 41″ (no change) BB: 44″  (no change) Hips: 42.5″ (lost 1/2 inch)  R Leg: 24.5″ (no change) L Leg: 24.5″ (no change).  I didn’t bother with my arms.

Sigh.

So this past week has been what I like to call a “fuckit” week.  I slacked on the exercise big time (had the opportunity to sleep in for a couple of days and took it rather than get up and work out) and pretty much ate whatever I could get my hands on.  Strangely, the scale was kind to me…. Weekly weigh in is 174.5.  Yippee!!!  I guess since my legs have had a rest for a couple of days, this morning’s workout was a little less uncomfortable than normal.  I was so into my music playlist on YouTube (my new best workout friend!!!!) when I looked at my timer it read 36:57…. so I just decided to keep going until I hit the 40 minute mark.

Anywho,  I feel fantastic and I am aiming for a more committed week to come!

Weigh-in on Sunday was a huge disappointment – would you believe I weighed in 177?  Um, ‘scuse me?!?  I only went “over-budget” in calories for one day, and burned in total (according to http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc) 2694 calories.  No way I should have seen a gain – so I guess that’s my sign from the universe to TAKE MY DAMN MEASUREMENTS!!!

This morning’s workout involved a LOT of self talk.  My legs hurt like crazy, but I was determined to make that 35 minute mark.  Especially since I ate till it hurt last night 😀  I worked through the first 5 or 6 minutes of initial discomfort, then it seemed to get easier after that.  Unfortunately, it came back around the 20 minute mark and I wanted to quit SO BAD!!!  So I just kept asking myself, “do you have another minute left in you?”  or “do you have 30 seconds left?”  The answer was always yes….. so I made it!  Yippee!

Now I think I will have a bath and go back to bed for a while, seeing as it’s only 4:30 am.  I woke up around 12:30am  and the insomnia kicked in something fierce… maybe I can catch a nap before everyone gets up 😀

Considering the fact that it’s Thanksgiving (Happy Thanksgiving, ladies!!!) and I will probably be eating a big dinner tonight without worrying about the calorie count,  I decided to step it up a notch, just a little, by extending my workout by 5 minutes.  It’s not much, but every little bit counts, right?  Well, that extra 5 minutes was an ass-kicking all by itself, and I’m so glad I did it.  Now I don’t see why I can’t do that every single day 😀  The extra 5 minutes, that is, not the big dinner 🙂

Today is my weekly weigh-in – I’m down to 176.5.  That’s three pounds gone, and that’s pretty impressive, seeing as I wasn’t REALLY giving it my all until about midweek.  I went on a mini-bender last night….. after work I was absolutely STARVING and quite frankly I just couldn’t face another apple or carrot stick 😀  So I went through the drive-thru and got just a cheeseburger for me (moderation, right?) and ordered a large fries for Ryan, because I just knew I had to bring him home something too.  Wouldn’t you know it, he didn’t want the damn fries – so I ate most of them.  Yeesh.  Then I found the stashed Halloween candy and ate about six of them.   So today was SUPPOSED to be my day “off” from exercising, but I found myself up at 5:00 am, ready to work off what I could.  I’m so glad I did 😀

I decided that this morning would be just as good as any to get my ass in gear and get back into exercising.  When we were cleaning out the garage for our moving sale, I found my yoga set with some good yoga videos, one of which has never been opened.  How the hell did this stuff get into the freaking garage?   Anyways, I started out with half an hour of yoga, hopped on my elliptical, then finished with another half hour of yoga.  My body is screaming.  I think I may have overdid it just a tad.  I’m glad, though – the pain will remind me not to put of exercising for so FRIGGING LONG.

I think I need to reassess my weekly goals.  I originally planned to exercise, on average, 1 hour per day.  This didn’t see unreasonable, seeing as I have a lot of weight to lose.  My plan was to do 30 minutes of elliptical and 30 minutes of walking, so some hardcore cardio mixed with ‘easier’ exercise.  However, I’ve been coming up major short the past couple weeks.  I think part of it was lack of spare time, seeing as it was spring break and I had both kids home ALL DAY!  Now that that’s over, maybe it’ll be easier.
